Eventually, I'll get over what happened on Sunday. Maybe this long rant will help me a little bit. First I will say congratulations to the Giants, they did what they needed to do and won the Super Bowl. Now, time for the ranting. What the heck happened to the Patriots? I thought we would see the offense that had showed up earlier, in the great weather at the beginning of the season. Instead, I saw five sacks. Throughout most of the game I saw really good defense from the Patriots. Then Randall Gay dropped a pick. We decided to let Eli Manning break several tackles behind the line, then complete a deep pass for the first down.

Bill Belichick is IMO the best coach in the game of football. He has made great calls every time there was a big decision in the past. But I have to question him going for it. Why, Bill, why? We drove a little bit, but we stall out. We're in Field Goal range. This has been a low scoring game so far where three points can be (and ended up as) the difference between a win and a loss. Now, if it was fourth and short, I might go for it there. But 4th and 13 is not a play that you have a good shot at. Hind-sight is 20-20, all that bs, the point is, that decision may have cost us the game.

I'm not in the mood for football right now, I'm not going to deal with this for a little bit. If you want to say I'm running away, fine. Maybe I am. Once I've calmed down I'll be back, and can deal with it then. Right now, I'll be in denial...

Every time a team comes close to the Patriots, whether its for a half, a quarter, or the whole game, all we hear about is how its a blueprint to beat the Patriots. Teams have come close, but no one has succeeded yet, and for it to be a "successful blueprint" doesn't it have to be successful? The thing is, the blueprint I keep hearing is pretty much play amazing on both sides of the ball, get really lucky, and you might have a chance. I have seen have some success against the Patriots, but they have pulled each game out by the end.

The problem with the idea of a "blueprint" is I don't think I have seen anything work against the Patriots in multiple games this year. A few running backs have had decent games, but when they gear up to stop the run, it hasn't worked. They see this "blueprint" that has been "exposed," even in games that no one else does, and they work to correct it. Bill Belichick is a great coach, and he sees every problem to work on in practice, to make sure it isn't a problem anymore.

This team is good enough that they can play poorly in the AFC Championship game and still win. I'm willing to bet the Patriots team that ran over most of the league shows up in Arizona. Who's willing to bet against me?
